As a new generation of refugees come to the United States, the narrator shares his family's story of fleeing Saigon, Vietnam in 1975. The act of cooking his family's recipe for Cha Gio (Vietnamese crispy, fried, spring rolls) evokes a cathartic and emotional confession about mental illness, restoration and resilience.
